No te pierdas
Hotel
No te pierdas

ENGLISH
I know, I’m pretty irresponsible with regard to my blog, but I have a good excuse, I’ve been on holidays!
After thinking and hesitate about it, my boyfriend and I decided to finally throw and fulfill one of my dreams, visit the beautiful Greece. We decided to go to Santorini, but we realized that the ticket price was much cheaper if we went back from Mykonos, so we decided to make this short but beautiful route. In the end, 6 days in Santorini and 3 in Mykonos.
Santorini
Hotel
In our case, we decided to stay at Hotel Monolithos, two white buildings, covering the basic need to sleep and shower. Don’t expect to find a resort with pool bar and superb views of the Caldera, but location-wise, it was worth it. It has a pool and the price is very much in relation to what they offer. It is also very close to the airport and they pick you up for the modest price of 5 €.
Cities
The best known are two: Fira and Oia. Both perfect to watch the sunset, but the magic one is in Oia.
Food & beaches
Surprisingly rich. We don’t know if it was just luck or if throughout Greece they cooke the same way, but wherever we went to eat we had a great time. On the beach of Monolithos there’s a tavern run by a local family where you cane at a deli chicken. Its important to know that they love herbs and don’t forget to ask for tzatziki wherever you go.
Before we went to Santorini, we read some blogs where you shouldn’t step on recommended restaurants around Fira or Oia, but I must say that if you look closer, you also find good stuff. In Oia we dined on a delicious crepes bar for a great price, as in Fira, where you can eat for 80 € or go to the main square (which is actually a street) and eat a lot cheaper.
Also at the beaches there are good places to eat, we are convinced that our favorite beaches were specifically two: Kamari and Perivolos. The two are very close to Monolithos and there are good restaurants. In Kamari we felt in love with Vassilikos, the pasta was delicious, the Santorini salad scrumptious, like some meatballs that were to die for.
In Perivolos beach there is a much more youthful atmosphere, hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for 5 € !!, we recommend you all the restaurants, although we enjoyed the sunbeds of Ammos and Margarita, the latter is a fast food restaurant but very good, in fact their burgers were delicious and at a great price. Another restaurant where it is essential to try the pork and the hamburger dish stuffed with cheese and tomato is the Meet Me.
And to finish with the beach of Perivolos we recommend a site with lots going on, Jojo’s Beach Bar is a beach bar with a pool inside where they play electronic music quite strong, though the prices at Jojo’s change completely, for a mojito you’ll pay 12€ and not 6 or 7 like other places.
Transport
An ATV, don’t complicate with cars, it’s not worth it. Furthermore, discard the idea of going by taxi, it is harder to get one out of the big cities of Fira or Oia. An ATV or a motorbike are ideal for island transport, but if you decide to go to Oia, grab a jacket, after the sunset it’s quite windy.
Party
Three options and all in Fira. The first one is to go to bars and take the long duration of happy hour, second is go to Casablanca and third go to Koo Club.
Do not miss
The Open Air Cinema! A magnificent alternative to the conventional stuff to do, an outdoor movie in English with Greek subtitles. It was really worth it.
Mykonos
To go to Mykonos, you just need you to buy a ferry ticket.
Hotel
In this case, we took the cheapest hotel available and, unfortunately the worst scored hotel on TripAdvisor. But don’t be confuse. The Hotel Alex, was poorly valued by having a unfriendly service, and the truth is that we had no problems. The rooms were good, they are old but perfectly to sleep, you have sea and sunset views from the balcony. It has a nice big pool, although it was closed 2 of 3 days for a technical problem.
Cities
There’s only one, Mykonos. And it is beautiful, looks smaller than it actually is, you’ll get tired just walking by the white and narrow streets.
Food
Is full of good restaurants, but for romantic evenings we want to recommend our favorites. On one side is the Casa di Giorgio, an Italian restaurant that is in a small square, with fresh pasta and pizzas, the best of Italy in the heart of Mykonos. Advisable to go at night, it’s beautiful with all the candles.
And we want to recommend, to have excellent food and very attentive, young and friendly service, the Fato a Mano, which delighted our taste buds.
Beaches
With the little time we had, we were able to visit only four beaches. First place is a must, Agios Sositis, north of the island is a paradise literally transparent beach. Without a hint of shadow, or you carry your umbrella or you’ll have to leave in 2 hours.
We also liked the beaches of Kalafatis and Lia, two beaches located in the south-west. Their merits: they are very quiet areas.
And finally we were also in the small Agios Ioannis, the space to be drawn in the sand is quite limited, as restaurants and chairs occupy much space, still worth going.
Transport
In this case we jump by a car as a matter of convenience and rented a Smart, small and easy to park anywhere.
Party
It is well known the party in Mykonos, but what we loved is what is happening in the inner city of Mykonos, in the bars and clubs in the center, as the Skandinavian or Food.
Do not miss
The windmills with the sunset and see a pelican in the streets of Mykonos, the most surreal.
This is our journey, hopefully you decide to go to any of the two islands and enjoy it as much as we did!! 🙂
